Becoming A LocalOwning In Worcester
Founded in an area originally called New Bristol, the township of Worcester has been part of the Montgomery County area since 1733. Worcester Township is well known for its stake in the Revolutionary War, as it is commonly known that George Washington’s army camped within the area prior to the Battle of Germantown. Throughout the following two hundred years, Worcester was known for its ties to local agriculture and farming, most notably for livestock, flour and wheat. Today, the area has the only certified organic farm in Montgomery County.
Residents of Worcester, much like their predecessors, still have the opportunity to enjoy gorgeously maintained parks and trails. Most notably in the area is Heebner Park, an 84 acre lush area with 2.25 miles of walking trails, sports courts, a playground, and areas for picnicking. Locals also frequent outdoor spaces like Sunny Brook Park, Mount Kirk Park, Heebner Park Trail, Heyser Field Trail, Moran Trail, and Zacharias Creek Trail. Each of these areas includes walking trails for visitors to enjoy through mature woods with both dirt and paved options. Aside from the outdoor opportunities, locals and visitors also have great shopping and dining options in the area, including the well known Fabulous Folks gift shop with tons of farmhouse decor, and restaurants like Bravo Pizza.
Located just an hour outside of the City of Philadelphia and just 20 minutes from Valley Forge National Historical park, Worcester Township is a hub for activity, community events and much more.
