On August 14, 2013 at the Pennsylvania Convention Center, I found out that I am now a part of the Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices family. The company acquired Prudential Fox & Roach, Realtors® and its subsidiary, The Trident Group. We are now a part of Warren Buffett, The Oracle of Omaha’s, network of companies. I think that’s pretty darn cool. Life is good!
As a point of reference, Prudential decided a few years ago to get out of the real estate business. At that point they sold off their real estate division. All companies within the Prudential family are allowed to retain the Prudential name until 2015. Since that time, Fox & Roach has been working on a strategy to determine the best path for our future as a company – both for the agents who make up the company and most importantly, for our clients. Yesterday, that decision was announced in a great venue with a nice celebratory party afterwards.
So, what does this mean for you, our clients? When you choose to work with Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices, Fox & Roach, Realtors, (I’ll address the “mouthful” it is to say in a minute), you will be choosing to work with a company and agent that signifies integrity, stability, strength and quality. You are choosing to work with a company that has all the resources of the second largest, full-service residential real estate brokerage firm in the country. Yes, I agree, the name is a mouthful. If I could, I’d answer the phone “Warren Buffett Real Estate!” but I don’t think that will fly. We’ll figure it out…I hope you’ll be patient with us as we go through this transition.
You will start to see our new signs in November 2013 (sample above). Ironically, my personal branding colors are plum and white. The BHHS colors are “cabernet and cream.” And here I thought my personal brand would stand out against the sea of Pru Blue. Turns out I might just have been ahead of the game. Who knew…?
I have been in business for myself for over 10 years and my marketing agency is still going like gangbusters (Active Integrated Marketing), but I am super excited to be part of such a wonderful and stable company.
